COURSE COMPONENTS
The course is divided into two key components to ensure a comprehensive learning experience:
1. Coursework and Exam

- An online, multiple-choice assessment to demonstrate your understanding of the course content.
- An 80% or higher score is required to start the practicum.
2. PRACTICUM
After completing the online coursework, you’ll apply your learning in a real-world setting through a structured practicum designed to strengthen your instructional skills.
Here’s what’s involved:
- Student Selection: Choose a student, age 5 or older, who would benefit from improving their handwriting and can commit to daily instruction for five weeks.
- Baseline Assessment: Administer a handwriting screener and submit a brief written report.
- Daily Instruction: Deliver 15–30 minute lessons each weekday for five consecutive weeks.
- Progress Monitoring: Conduct brief, weekly evaluations to document improvement and guide instruction.
- Final Assessment: Submit a summary report outlining the student’s progress.
To earn the Handwriting Heroes Micro-Credential Certification, you must complete all course modules and activities and demonstrate mastery of the required competencies by meeting or exceeding performance standards.
